About the Site
This site was formally known as Fly High Tutorials, which was opened on March 17, 2005. After a huge revamp in April 2008, I renamed it and moved it to signify a new beginning. Himitsu means "secret" in Japanese and is named as such because this site reveals some of my "Photoshop secrets". The techniques taught in Basic are ones that I often. The effects taught in the other tutorials have been used in my layouts at one point or another. After all, this site started after I received many "how did you do that?" questions, and now you know.
About Me
I'm known to the web as Cat and can be contacted at cat@twilight-realm.com. I have been making websites since 1999. I have also been using Photoshop since then. I use Photoshop 6.0 at home, but Photoshop CS2 at work. I am a self taught user though. I have not taken any classes for graphics or Photoshop. I mainly learned through trial and error; owning websites that I can make layouts for have definitely helped this. I also pick up techniques here and there from other tutorial sites, which I have linked on the Links page.
I have a bit of professional experience. In 2004, I began freelancing in making web designs. In 2007, I started full time work in user interface for software. Although most of my work involves coding, I still use Photoshop once in a while to make icons or mock ups of upcoming features.
About the Layout
You are currently view Version 4, a product of late night boredom. My inspiration came from the several web 2.0 sites that I happened to be surfing that night. After having a dark layout in the previous version, I decided to go with brighter colors. This site is also coded with valid XHTML Transitional and valid CSS.
